Wai Wai noodles recipe|Wai Wai noodles and soup recipe: easy to make and super flavourful noodles and soup recipe.

Wai Wai noodles are on my favourite noodles and is very close to my heart because I am eating this since my childhood. my hometown is near the Nepal border so we get the combo of Nepalese and Indian food here and we easily get Nepali wai wai noodles here.

This noodles are very delicious you can eat it cooked or uncooked and for this recipe I have made flavourful soup and noodles combined in sauce and veggies. It is the perfect combination trust me just like momos and momos chutney.

I have used chicken flavoured wai wai and I like it’s flavour more than vegetarian wai wai. you can get wai wai in any city or town near to Nepal border or whenever you visit Nepal you can get it from their or it is now very easily available in many Indian supermarkets.

Whenever I used to take this noodles in my school lunchbox I use to eagerly wait for the recess time so that I can eat it as soon as possible but without sharing it with my friends.😜 this noodles reminds me of my school time.

This recipe is not very complicated just follow the tips and you will get perfect results. you can even have it hot or cold it’s tastes good also you can try different variation mentioned below.

Ingredients

Noodles: I have used chicken flavoured wai wai noodles if you’re vegetarian then you can try vegetable one but both has different taste I like non veg flavour noodle more than the veg one.

Veggies: green chilli, green onion, cabbage, capsicum and onion. you can also add tofu or paneer.

Sauce: tomato ketchup, green chilli sauce and dark soy sauce.

How to make Wai Wai noodles at home

Boiling noodles and wai wai soup-

Crush the wai wai and add it to a pot or in the utensil you want to boil. add water in it and boil it at low to medium flame for 5 to 6 minutes also cover it with a plate to fasten the process.

You will get 2 sachets in one packet which is onion oil, taste enhancer and red chilli powder. we will add these later so keep it aside.

Don’t over boil the noodles it will take 5 to 6 minutes. when the noodles are boiled strain all the wai wai soup in a bowl and let the noodles sit on the strainer until we make the sauce.

Note: strain the soup just after boiling don’t keep the boiled noodles and soup for longer time because noodles will drink all the soup and you will left with no soup so make sure to strain just after boiling.

Sauce and seasoning-

In a deep bottom pan add canola oil and onion oil from the sachet then add in slit green chillies, sliced onion, thinly sliced cabbage, sliced capsicum and chopped green onion.

Cook it at medium flame stirring occasionally until golden brown then add tomato ketchup, green chilli sauce and soy sauce. Mix it well.

Then add taste enhancer and red chilli powder in it and mix it. add boiled wai wai noodles in it combine it well.

Wai Wai noodles and wai wai soup is ready to serve.

How to boil noodles without gas stove

Pro tip for hostels students or pg students if you don’t have gas stove or induction or microwave to boil this noodles then take any small tiffin box or a plastic container with a lid add hot water, crushed wai wai and taste enhancer in it.

Cover it with a lid tightly and let the noodles sit in hot water for 10-15 minutes and tadaaa it’s ready. I am telling this tip from my experience so try it you won’t go wrong.

Top tips

  • I have used chicken flavoured wai wai noodles if you’re vegetarian then use green colour one.
  • strain the soup right after boiling don’t keep the boiled noodles in soup for longer time because noodles will drink all the soup and you will left with no soup so make sure to strain just after boiling. It has happened with me many time 😅

Variations

  • Soupy noodles: To make soup noodles boil wai wai and add its taste enhancer, onion oil and red chilli powder in it while boiling. when boiled you with left with soup and boiled noodles, transfer it to a bowl and enjoy.
  • Egg wai wai: Add one egg when veggies turns golden brown cook the egg then add sauces and boiled noodles.
  • Chicken noodles: All the steps will be same as mentioned above add fried or baked chicken in the sauce, for vegan or vegetarian option you can use fried tofu or paneer.
