Restaurant style laccha pyaz|laccha onion salad recipe is very popular North Indian side dish which goes perfectly with any meal or tandoori appetizer.

Laccha pyaz means onion ring salad, which is spiced with spices, lemon juice for tanginess with the crunch of onions.

It adds extra flavour to any meal. It is the easiest side dish you can make and it can be made within 10 minutes.

Pyaz/onion and chutney play a very important role in every Punjabi house, we eat lots of raw onion with meals, appetizer or snacks. sometimes when their is no salad or chutney with meal we simply break onion with rolling pin, peel, wash and eat with meals.

I made this laccha pyaz for my aunts and cousins with pav bhaji, it was a win-win recipe. they loved it so much that I made it again for them but always serve this salad fresh.

Give this recipe a try and enjoy this salad with your meals.

Quick jump

Ingredients

Onion: Use big onion for big onion rings. you can use any variety of onion like red onion or white onion. I have used red onion for this recipe.

Spices: This recipe requires very basic spices which is salt, Kashmiri red chilli powder, black salt and chaat masala. If you’re using regular spicy red chilli powder then decrease the quantity as Kashmiri red chilli powder is less spicy.

Coriander/cilantro leaves: it adds freshness to the salad, you can also use mint leaves as well.

Lemon: lemon juice adds tanginess to the salad.

Oil: use smoked mustard oil so that you don’t get raw taste and smell, it can also be substituted with olive oil.
