WHAT IS BOONDI ?
Boondi is made with mixture of gram flour, baking powder
In India people offer this sweet as prashad in temple and gurudwara.

For preparing boondi you need two most important kitchen utensils that

Step by step instructions
- In a bowl add gram flour or besan, baking soda and add water.
- mix it well until there are no lumps formed and smooth mixture is formed
- Mixture should neither be thin nor thick.
- Divide the batter into 2 equal parts and add food color to it and mix it well.
- Heat the oil in Kadhai or deep frying pan.
- Pour 2-3 tablespoon of mixture on frying spoon or jharra, mixture will fall drop by drop.
- Fry the boondi on medium flame until crisp.
- now drain it with steel strainer and transfer it to
paper towel to absorb extra oil.do the same forrest of the batter. In the another pan make sugar syrup by adding sugar and water. boil it for 1 string consistency. - lastly add all the boondi to the sugar syrup and mix it well
.cover the pan withlid for 4-5 minutes so that sugar syrup is absorbed by boondi. - Meethi boondi is ready to serve.store it in
a airtight container.

- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- Food colour ( I have used red and yellow powder food colour)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Refind oil for frying
- Water
Instructions
- In a bowl add 1 cup gram flour or besan then add 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and add water.mix it continuously so that no lumps are formed.
- Mixture should neither be thin nor thick.
- Then divide the mixture into 2 equal parts and add food colour to it and mix it well.
- I have added yellow and red colour, it is your choice if you don't want to add colour then fry the mixture as it is.
- Heat the refined oil or canola oil on medium flame in a Kadhai or deep frying pan.
- when the oil is heated, pour 2-3 tablespoon of batter on frying spoon which is also called jharra, batter will fall drop by drop.
- fry the boondi until crisp, when the batter is pour in oil boondi immediatly raise and their is no need to make it brown as the colour remains same. fry it on medium flame.
- Drain it with steel strainer and transfer it to paper towel to absorb extra oil.do the same for rest of the batter.
- In the another pan to make sugar syrup add 1/2 cup sugar and 1 cup water, then boil it for 1 string consistency.
- Add all the fried boondi to the sugar syrup and mix it well.cover the pan with lid for 5-7 minutes so that sugar syrup is absorbed by boondi
- Meethi boondi is ready to serve.store it in a airtight container.
Notes
Store it in an airtight container for 10-12 days.
