Chaas also known as buttermilk is healthy and refreshing desi drink. it is the blend of yogurt and flavoured with spices. It is very popular drink in India during summers.
Summers in India can get really hot and harsh, these cooler drinks saves our dried throat and rehydrate us.

Laban (Arab drink) is little similar to chaas, it is thick but both are made using yogurt. yogurt, sattu water, coconut water is essential during summers, you should have it at least once a day.
Making chaas is very easy you can use any one way to make it as mentioned below. I have made this recipe traditional way that is using clay pot and madani.
Clay pot does the work of bowl but it makes the chaas more flavourful and has natural cooling effect, madani does the work of whisk and you can find madani in any punjabi household.
If you don’t prefer using clay pot then use blender or bowl & whisk or hand mixer.
I had missi roti+chaas during gurupurab in langar. it is the perfect combination and very tasty. (ps: no one can compete with the taste of the langar😅)
