FAQs
Q1. What is mcAloo tikki burger
McAloo tikki burger is vegan or vegetarian burger in which thick crispy aloo tikki, mayo and salad is stuffed between the bun. It is served by McDonald’s in India.
Q2. Why do aloo tikki fell apart
Whenever you are frying the tikki or cutlet or pakoda always make sure oil is hot, the oil should be medium hot. while frying keep adjusting the flame to low and medium.
As we are deep frying aloo tikki for burger, so add enough oil. fry the tikki from both the sides by flipping it gently. It takes 3-4 minutes to fry and you can fry two tikki at once.
If the oil is not hot the tikki may dissolve, break and become soggy.
Q3. Why does breading fall off from aloo tikki
Cornflour and all purpose flour slurry works as the binding agent, if you don’t prefer using cornflour slurry you can use beaten egg.
Slurry will help to coat the breadcrumbs nicely.
Q4. Can you use suji instead of breadcrumbs
Yes, you can use suji or semolina or you also use rice flour, roasted poha, oats or rusk powder.
I have used roasted poha, rusk powder and rice flour many times for coating cutlet or tikki and it’s result are very nice.
Q5. How to make breadcrumbs by hand
The easy way is to grind it in a blending jar or you can use mortar and pestle and crush it by hands. If you don’t have mortar and pestle then use zip lock bag and beat the bread with rolling pin.😜
