This Homemade chicken nuggets with ground chicken recipe is full of flavors, soft from the inside, crispy from the outside, and melts in the mouth. It is a perfect freezer-friendly and evening snack, you can even make during Ramadan fasting.
I have added Indian masala to the minced chicken to get the Indian flavor but this recipe is very customizable you can add the seasoning of your choice and make it your way. Most of the chicken nugget recipes use boneless chicken cubes but try it this way you will crave more after every bite. Trust Me!!
Instead of buying processed/frozen nuggets try making this at home, my family loves evening snacks so most of the time we try to make it at home rather than ordering from outside. Ditch the processed food and make these delicious homemade chicken nuggets.

INGREDIENTS FOR HOMEMADE CHICKEN NUGGETS
Minced Chicken- use minced chicken thigh as the texture is smooth compared to chicken breast.
Seasonings- these nuggets require basic seasonings like garam masala, salt, red chili powder, and ginger garlic paste.
Coating- cornflour slurry, breadcrumbs.
Other- onion, coriander leaves, egg.
HOW TO MAKE GROUND CHICKEN NUGGETS
In a mixing bowl add chicken keema (minced chicken), finely chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves, salt, garam masala, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, egg, and breadcrumbs. You can use ginger, onion, and garlic powder if the paste is unavailable.
Mix it well, use your hand to mix it.
Note- If you have whole chicken thigh then mince the chicken in a food processor.

Take a small portion of minced chicken and give it a square shape. Freeze the shaped chicken mixture for 25-30 mins so that it will hold the shape and will be manageable while coating.
Note- At this stage, you can refrigerate it overnight and fry it the next day after coating it.

Dip the shaped chicken mixture in cornflour slurry and then coat it with breadcrumb. Repeat this process once again which is dipping in the slurry and coating it with breadcrumbs.
Repeat the same process for the rest of the chicken mixture. Fry it in medium hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Once fried transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate.
Sprinkle some chaat masala over it and serve it immediately with tomato ketchup or yogurt coriander chutney. You can also pair these homemade chicken nuggets with mojito or the drink of your choice.

HOW TO MAKE KIDS FRIENDLY CHICKEN NUGGETS
My teenage brother throws tantrums whenever we ask him to eat veggies or any healthy food. So most of the time we hide vegetables or make healthy versions of every recipe. In these chicken nuggets, you can add grated vegetables and decrease the amount of red chili powder.
Instead of deep fry shallow fry or bake the chicken nugget in the oven.
SHALLOW FRY AND AIR FRY INSTRUCTION
Shallow fry- In a pan add 2 to 3 tablespoons of oil and place nuggets over it, cook it at low to medium flame until both sides have turned golden brown. While frying if the oil gets soaked up or the nuggets start sticking to the pan then add a teaspoon of oil or as required.
Air fry- Place the chicken nuggets in a preheated air fryer and air fry it for 8 to 9 minutes at 400 F. After 9 minutes flip it to the other side and cook again, once done serve it with your favourite sauce.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve this homemade chicken nuggets with ground chicken simply with tomato ketchup or sweet and spicy sauce, You can pair it with the drink of your choice.
Chicken nugget sandwich– Mostly I keep some chicken tikka, fried chicken, chicken nuggets, cutlets, etc to make the sandwich. Start by removing the sides of the bread then spread some mayonnaise on one side add a chicken piece top it with the salad of your choice and cover it with another bread slice.
It’s ready, I have tried a fried chicken and chicken nuggets sandwich and it tastes nice.
Chicken nugget pizza- Top the pizza with chicken nuggets always cut the nuggets into two halves before adding them to the pizza. I tried it once and I am not a big fan of it.
