Cheeni paratha|cheeni ka paratha recipe or sugar paratha is the sugar stuffed paratha, it is sweet, soft, crispy and delicious.

Have you ever heard about churi roti or churi vali roti? It is hot roti with a tablespoon of ghee and sugar over it and then crumbling it with finger.

You can try this churi roti version as well with jaggery or you can try stuffed sugar paratha. If you prefer gluten free then make bajra or jowar roti.

My grandma make this churi roti for me till now and I love it🥰 this sugar paratha or cheeni paratha is perfect for kids when they don’t eat lunch or breakfast.

What is paratha?

Paratha is the whole wheat Indian bread, it can be made plain or stuffed. It is a very popular breakfast meal in India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.

It can be stuffed with any vegetables, sugar or jaggery.

Is paratha healthy?

Currently, I am reading Rujuta Diwekar book (eating in the age of dieting). she has mentioned the goodness of ghee and thrown out all the myth regarding ghee.

In 1 paratha we don’t add a cup of ghee it just requires few spoons and ghee taste is not overpowered on paratha.

So, paratha is healthy wholesome breakfast and before eating paratha their would be little ghee on the surface, apply the ghee on your lips with finger it will work as a lip balm. I always do this.😅

How to make cheeni paratha

  • In a bowl add wheat flour then gradually add water in it and knead the dough. Dough should neither be too soft or hard as rock.
  • Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 to 40 minutes. You can also knead the dough at night and keep it in airtight container in refrigerator and use it for the breakfast.
  • Take one medium size dough ball and dust it with wheat flour. Place the dough ball over the board(chakla), roll it into a circle with a rolling pin.
  • Spread ghee evenly all over rolled dough then sprinkle sugar all over the dough or you can increase or decrease the amount of sugar.
