Bel sharbat ingredients
This recipe requires only 3 ingredients.
Bel- It is known as a wood apple in English, use ripen bel to make sharbat. You can find it easily during summer in grocery stores or in local fruit markets.
Sugar- I have used unrefined sugar which is also known as khaand, you can also use regular sugar or jaggery.
Water– The quantity of water can be adjusted to get the desired consistency.
How to make bel ka sharbat
Break the bel or wood apple with the help of a rolling pin in two halves. Scoop out the pulp with a spoon.

Transfer the bel pulp to a large mixing bowl then add water and sugar to it, give it a mix. Cover and let it rest for 3 to 4 hours.

After 3 to 4 hours mash it with your fingers to separate the seeds as they are bitter in taste. Strain it using a strainer and add water to the strained mixture to get the right consistency.
Note- Decrease the quantity of water if you like the juice to be thick.

Add a few ice cubes to the glass and pour the bel sharbat into it. It is ready to serve, serve it chilled.

Top tips
- Do not skip the resting process
- Khaand (unrefined sugar) can be substituted with jaggery or regular white sugar.
- Water and sugar quantity in this recipe is not fixed, incase you get a medium to large size bel fruit then the quantity of water and sugar will be increased.
- Tastes best when served fresh, do not store it in the refrigerator as its tastes start to change.
