This is my mother’s recipe and many relatives are fans of her kachalu chaat you can impress your relatives as well with this quick chaat recipe. It is inspired by a street vendor in my hometown who sells ghamanja and kachalu, I don’t know if you guys are aware of the dish called “ghamanja”– It is a chaat made with pakoras which are dipped in tamarind water and it is topped with boiled white peas, onions, etc.

Ingredients
Potatoes- Use boiled potatoes for this recipe, you can replace the boiled potatoes with sweet potatoes to make it more healthy.
Tamarind water- fresh tamarind or dry tamarind and water is required to make tamarind water. It is sour in taste and makes the kachalu extra flavourful.
Basic spices- salt, black salt, roasted cumin powder, and red chili powder.
How to make aloo kachalu
In a mixing bowl or plate add peeled and sliced boiled potatoes then add in tamarind water, red chili powder, salt to taste, black salt, and roasted cumin powder.
Mix it well.
