30+ Recipes without onion and garlic (kala chana chaat)

Protein packed, healthy and delicious chana chaat or chana salad recipe, this recipe requires very basic ingredients and even a beginner can make this recipe.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup kala chana (black chickpea)
- 2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 medium tomato (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon chopped mint leaves
- 1 lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon kala namak (rock salt)
- 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1 green chilli
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
Instructions
Pressure-cook black chickpea
Soak 2/3 cup kala chana in water overnight then drain the water and rinse the chana nicely.
Add chana, 2 cup water and 1/2 teaspoon salt in the pressure cooker, close it with a lid and pressure cook it at high flame until it get 2-3 whistles then lower the flame to simmer for 15 minutes and turn off the flame.
Let the pressure release naturally and chana is boiled, use it for salad or chaat.
Kala chana chaat
In a bowl add boiled black chickpea, 1 chopped tomato, 1 chopped green chilli, 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro, 1 teaspoon mint leaves, 1 lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon rock salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder, 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala and 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder.
Combine it nicely and it is ready to serve.
Notes
- Make sure that kala chana is cooked nicely and don’t discard the water which is left after boiling as it is very nutritious. you can little pepper in it and drink it as a dal soup.
- You can add veggies of your choice and quantity of spices can be increased or decreased as per your taste.
